Four years making services hold their shape

Go, AWS and the unglamorous work of keeping things up: 2M+ requests a week at 99.9% uptime, across Cisco and now PayPal.

Certificate lifecycle · PayPal

Certificates renewed in minutes, not weeks

Renewal on Fastly's edge went from a fourteen-day manual queue to an orchestrated pipeline that finishes in under five, and rolls itself back when a gate fails.

Reliability at scale

Coverage up. Bugs halved. Nothing on fire.

62% to 93% coverage on a core Go package, production defects down by half, and a hundred-odd infrastructure incidents taken all the way to root cause.

The short version

I own services end to end — schema, API, deploy, the 3am page — and I like the part where a system stops being fragile. Most of my work is measured in things that did not happen.

Work

Issued, valid, renewed

Four and a half years of tenure, drawn the way I spend my days looking at certificates — as validity windows on one timeline.

    • 14 days to under 5 minutes. Owned schema design and backend structure for Certificate Lifecycle Management on Fastly's edge CDN, automating renewal and deployment.
    • Built the export flow and subtask orchestration across every request pipeline — SAN additions, pre- and post-validation, automatic rollback on failure.
    • Built the operator frontend too, surfacing each orchestration step live so validation gates, deploy progress and rollback states are all visible.
    • Designed against the 2029 mandate that cuts certificate validity to 47 days, so the platform survives renewal at that frequency.

    • 2M+ requests a week at 99.9% uptime. Delivered the Product Alert Service API in Go on AWS, using caching and load-balancing strategies to hold that under load.
    • Architected the FIS API for product feature data — 30% more throughput at low latency, on Go concurrency primitives.
    • Dove deep on 100+ production infrastructure issues across AWS with SRE and platform teams, through root cause to long-term fixes.
    • Lifted coverage on the CX Cloud IBES Go package from 62% to 93%, cutting production bugs in half.
    • Quarterly Shining Star Award, twice, for leading critical backend service work.

    • Studied system architecture for Online Monitoring of Rolling Stock and VESDA; helped deploy the monitoring platform to a new site in Panipat.
    • Wrote Python and Selenium automation that cut daily bug identification time 60% — two hours back per engineer, every day.

Things I made unprompted

Sehat

One health app for all

A privacy-first health platform on a Go backend with FHIR R4 interoperability, so records move between systems without being rebuilt each time. A multi-model AI pipeline — Anthropic Claude among them — turns a patient's history into something actionable rather than another PDF.

HR Transport

Live bus tracking and ticketing

A PWA for riders who just want to know where the bus is. Stop detection runs automatically instead of by driver input, caching keeps it cheap on a serverless deploy, and the APIs are documented so other operators can plug in.
